Lansoprazol réduit la quantité d'acide produite dans l'estomac. Il est indiqué pour traiter et empêcher les ulcères de l'estomac et de l'intestin, l'œsophagite érosive (lésions de l'œsophage dues à l'acide gastrique) et d'autres troubles causés par un excès d'acide gastrique comme le syndrome de Zollinger-Ellison.
